Hailing from the darkest back alleys of the SFV, Clarque stumbled upon the Big 49 by way of the McDonald’s drive thru by former station owner "Millionaire Bruce Wane" (ordering his customary four cheeseburgers medium fries and large coke in his limousine-style Ford Bronco). Taking pity upon him, Bruce invited Clarque to come hang out at the broadcast compound during the earliest days of The 49.
Clarque carved a niche for himself by playing "way" too much Depeche Mode and Falco (which nearly got him fired) but management let him hang out for the next 9 years anyway because he always brought plenty of Dr. Pepper (pre vending machine) for everyone to share. Clark always surrounded himself with a veritable rogues gallery of deranged idiots including Dante, Pedro, and various airport gentlemen’s club “dancers”.
Clarque eventually left The 49 right before it was "The Big 49" for reasons known only to him. He went on to live a life in the blasted hellscape known as Corporate America, where he thrived, survived, and promptly burned out because Corporate America sucks. And so, he came crawling back, asking for his old job back, because of course he did.
So now he’s back on TV80’s playing the darkest and most "tragic" Alternative 80's music. His new show “Dark Valley” airing Saturday nights from 7p -10p and running again on the following Wednesday night from 9p-12am.
Get Ready for some Siouxie and her Banshies, Depeche Mode / Cure / The Smiths / Love & Rockets / and all other Melodic hits of the 80s. along with behind the scenes stories of yesteryear, and Clarques special guests "dead and alive", Who knows Clarque may talk to the dead. "Tonights Special dead Guest Marilyn Chambers via Medium" .. You never know with Clarque. Only on LA's best Alternative ROK of the 80's The Valley 80's.
